How much research and consideration have you had regarding the wedding linen rentals that you will use for your big day? When you first begin to plan for your wedding, you likely find the process much easier by working with a wedding planner. A wedding planner essentially walks you through each and every step in the process of creating the perfect wedding. Weddings are all about planning, and when it comes to planning for your wedding, the results are going to show everyone involved just how much thought you actually put into the entire ceremony and reception.

If your wedding is a mish mash of uncoordinated colors and textures, your guests will know that you threw everything together at the last minute. Some people do throw everything together at the very last minute, and the results are very rarely ideal. Still, even if you do all of your planning ahead of time, long before your wedding occurs, you can still create a wedding experience that is less than ideal if you do not put as much thought into the details as you ought to. Planning a wedding is all about paying attention to the details, even obsessing about them.

Don’t you want to show your guests that your heart is in this wedding? You and your partner should get together and plan your wedding out with every detail in mind. A perfectly coordinated wedding is a beautiful and coordinated special day that your guests will remember for years to come. Do you want to make a huge impression? One of the greatest ways to make a good impression is to plan out your reception party detail by detail, choosing your wedding linen rentals that coordinate well with the other details of your wedding. Get more ideas for your wedding with wedding linen rentals by checking out http://www.magicalpartyrentals.com/rentals/weddinglinenrentals.html.

Wedding linen rentals include both table linen rentals, and chair cover rentals. Both of these accessory rentals are important when it comes to creating a perfectly coordinated and well-planned wedding event. Your guests will appreciate the thought that you put into the event, creating an amazing wedding event that is enjoyable, beautiful and most of all – memorable. Remember, most people are visual so the quality of your linen rentals will certainly enhance your guest’s experience.

High quality custom linen rentals should be superior in quality and are available in a variety of different styles, textures, colors and themes. A reputable wedding linen rentals company’s goal should be to provide you with the choices that you need, to choose the wedding linen rentals that will best fulfill not only your expectations but also the expectations of your wedding guests. The goal of your wedding planning process should be harmonizing everything perfectly. And, quite truthfully, much of this has to do with choosing the wedding linen rentals that will coordinate in color and texture to the rest of the details of your wedding. Not only should your chair cover rentals and table linen rentals coordinate with each other but they should also coordinate to the rest of your wedding, such as your floral arrangements, your wedding gown, and what your bridesmaids and groomsmen are wearing as well. For more information on custom linen rentals go to http://www.magicalpartyrentals.com/rentals/customlinenrentals.html.

If you are looking for the highest possible quality wedding linen rentals, then take some time to look at the options available to you. Do some research – it’s well worth your time. The ideal wedding linen rentals providers are companies that offer a variety of different choices, not only just in the color of the table linen rentals and chair cover rentals, but also when it comes to texture, style and theme. All of these details are important when it comes to perfectly coordinating the details of your wedding, which is why this is not a last minute process but rather one of the first elements of wedding planning you should consider.

Beautifully wrapped gifts indicate that you have put forth both time and effort in create wonderfully personalized gifts. First impressions make lasting impressions! Since the presentation of gifts is important, there are many ways to add your own personal touch.

A gift can be personalized for the holiday or special occasion. Another way is by using the recipient’s favorite colors or by using wrapping materials that reflect a hobby or special interest.

By using innovative ways to wrap gifts, you can save money as well by using materials that are readily available at very little cost to you.

Gift Wrapping Materials:

Create an attractive wrapped gift by choosing unusual wrapping paper or other materials. Use sheet music for the music lover, maps for those who enjoy traveling, or newspaper for anyone who keeps up with what’s going on in the world. Use specific sections of a newspaper such as the sports pages, comics, etc. Other paper products that are usable are the pages from telephone books, magazines, coloring books, or comic books. Paper doilies, decorative paper napkins, aluminum foil, crepe paper, or brown craft paper are unique paper products that work well for wrapping gifts.

In addition to paper wrapping materials, delicate fabrics such as tulle, netting, organza, and chiffon are lovely for feminine gifts. Color coordinate the gift box with sheer fabric so the color blend nicely if the box shows through the fabric. Add a satin or sheer organza ribbon and loosely tie the ribbon into a bow. When using fabric, wrap gift boxes as usual or wrap as you would a gift basket by pulling extra fabric over the top of the gift with enough fabric to tie with a ribbon. If desired, tie a pretty silk flower in with the ribbon.

One of my favorite wrapping papers come from purchased shopping gift bags. My local dollar store has hundreds of different designs for one dollar each. The paper used in these bags in heavier than purchased gift wrap and many of the papers have a shiny finish. Simply cut them into the size you need for wrapping your gift and don’t forget to use the matching gift tag.

Ribbon, Bows, and More:

Coordinate the color and type of ribbon used with the gift wrapping. Raffia and twine are better for gifts that are not feminine in content. Satin, sheer organza, or grosgrain ribbon in patterns or solid colors are lovely for feminine gifts. Ribbon with wire on the sides is easier to tie in a structured-type of bow than ribbon without wire. Curly ribbon is always nice and the easiest to work with. You can combine several colors or add a fixed bow or allow extra curled ribbon to cascade onto the gift.

Decorative Items:

Adding small items is a great way to dress up your gifts as well as to tie in the theme of the gift. Choose a rattle or small toy for a baby gift. Add small white wedding bells to a bridal shower or wedding gift. Tie candy canes or small ornaments into the ribbon on Christmas gifts. Small toys, decorative cookie cutters, silk flowers, and any other small unbreakable items that can be tied with ribbon will be nice additions to complete your gifts.

Cello bags are inexpensive, keep your gifts dust free, and make gifts easy to transport. These bags are also used to wrap gift baskets, but they are wonderful for potted plants as well as for unusual shaped gifts. They are available in clear, many colors, as well as many decorative designs. You can purchase these bags in some card stores as well as party stores.

You’ve been asked to be the Wedding Emcee at a wedding. It’s a huge honor.

But while you’re flattered to be asked to take on the responsibility you’re not sure what to do as the Wedding Master of Ceremonies.

Here are 7 Wedding MC Tips for the Wedding Emcee who is starting out and doesn’t know how to go about preparing for the Wedding MC Duties:

1. Prepare For Your Wedding MC Duties Early

As Wedding Emcee you’ll have a lot to do. So don’t wait until the last minute to organize things. Meet with the wedding planners early in the wedding planning timeline and know what’s expected of you.

Keep in mind that people will be busy preparing for the wedding and the wedding reception. Take every opportunity to meet with the wedding planners as well as the bride and groom to make sure you have all the information and background material you’ll need at the wedding reception.

Make sure you have a detailed Wedding MC Checklist for organizing your Wedding MC Duties and a wedding reception agenda to refer to during the reception.

You’ll need to know what’s going on during the wedding day. There’s always the possibility of delays that can throw the wedding reception agenda off.

Stay informed and communicate with your key wedding planners and service providers.

2. Be Prepared For The Unexpected

Be prepared for unexpected surprises including a change in weather, late arrivals of the wedding couple or wedding party, and a delay in serving the meal.

Always have contingency plans in place in case something unexpected comes up.

3. Arrive At The Wedding Reception Venue Early

Imagine walking into the reception room an hour before the reception and finding that it’s not ready for the wedding guests. Or finding that the caterers are behind in preparing the meal. Or discovering that the band will be late in arriving.

That’s why it’s important to arrive at the wedding reception venue early so you can organize things to make sure everything is running smoothly.

4. Pronounce People’s Names Correctly

People like the sound of their own name. And there’s nothing more embarrassing than mispronouncing someone’s name – especially if you’re introducing them to the wedding guests.

5. Tell Clean and Tasteful Wedding MC Jokes

As Wedding Master of Ceremonies you’re not only an organizer and speaker, you’re also an entertainer.

That’s why every successful Wedding Emcee has Wedding MC Jokes ready for an appropriate time throughout the wedding reception.

Use good judgement in choosing your Wedding MC Jokes to ensure you don’t embarrass the wedding couple or the wedding guests.

6. Don’t Embarrass The Bride And Groom

As Wedding MC you’re expected to be professional and tactful.

That’s why it’s important to make sure you don’t make comments that embarrass anyone – especially the bride and groom.

7. Focus The Wedding Guests’ Attention On The Newlyweds

As the Wedding Master of Ceremonies your responsibility is to ensure the bride and groom are in the limelight.

Even though you’re the Wedding Emcee you should ensure you don’t upstage the newlyweds. Remember, the wedding reception isn’t about you, it’s about the bride and groom.

Being a Wedding Master of Ceremonies isn’t something to take lightly – it’s a huge responsibility and the wedding planners expect a lot from you.

When you consider the thousands of dollars spent on a wedding, the very least you can do as Wedding Emcee is to make sure you carry out your Wedding MC Duties with diligence, tact, and professionalism.

WeddingSpeechesAndVows.com helps Wedding MC’s perform their Wedding Emcee Duties with professionalism at the wedding reception to make it a memorable event for the bride and groom.

Personalized Groomsmen Gifts

There are so many different types of gifts that you can consider giving to the members of your bridal party that it is sometimes a difficult and overwhelming feat to accomplish. When you are shopping for groomsmen gifts specifically, it might be more difficult than you think to find exactly what you are looking for. The best groomsmen gifts are not only interesting, but they are also gifts that they can use and enjoy for years to come. To make your groomsmen gifts unforgettable and unique, make them personalized for each member of your wedding party. Finding personalized groomsmen gifts are a great way to thank your groomsmen for all of their help, love, and support leading up to and during your special wedding day.

When searching for the best groomsmen gifts, you want to consider not only traditional groomsmen gifts, but also which gifts your specific groomsmen will like best. When dealing with groomsmen gifts, it is completely acceptable to break away from the norm or stick to the traditional route based on the unique personalities of your groomsmen. Remember, finding wonderful groomsmen gifts is a great way to show your love and appreciation for the guys who have always stuck by your side. Your groomsmen are the men who have been there for you and shown you what true brotherhood all about. Therefore, a personalized groomsmen gift is a great way to give them that extra something special for everything they have done for you.

Before selecting a gift, take a good look at your groomsmen and try to determine what it is that they like to do. Deciphering this will give you a few good ideas about the types of gifts that are going to be best for them. It is easier when you know that your groomsmen like to participate in golf, or play other sports, because you can find many wonderful personalized sporting gifts that they will definitely enjoy.

Many couples try to get groomsmen gifts that can first be used during the reception, as well as for many years afterward. If your friends like to party and have a good time, consider getting them personalized beer mugs, wine openers, or bottle openers. All of these gifts can be uniquely personalized with their favorite team, their name, or any other message. If your groomsmen really like to have a good time, you can also consider getting them a bottle of wine or perhaps their favorite bottle of alcohol to go along with their mug or opener. This is a great way to give them a gift that they will always enjoy.

If your groomsmen are very traditional, or very formal themselves, or if choose to go with a more formal theme for your wedding gifts, there are some great ways to make this happen as well. You can give your groomsmen wonderful gifts that they can use forever such as money clips, watches, or cufflinks. Tie in your entire wedding ceremony with these gifts by getting them personalized with their initials. These are very classic gifts ideas that you can use to give your groomsmen that they will cherish for years to come.

If your groomsmen are handy, outdoors men that are good with their hands, there are an abundant amount of groomsmen gifts that are perfect for them. Consider getting them an all-in-one mega tool that is equipped with a sturdy hammer, a set of pliers, a blade, a saw, a file screwdriver, and a can opener. If your groomsmen are more keen on knife sets, consider getting them a two piece knife set complete with a knife that has sixteen functions, a smaller knife that has five functions, a flashlight, and a medallion. With these tools, your groomsmen will be able to fix anything.

The trick to finding great personalized groomsmen gifts is to first look at who your groomsmen are and the various things that they enjoy doing. There are going to be so many different types of groomsmen gifts out there that sometimes, just picking out something you know they will like is the best way to find a gift. Even though traditionally, all of the men get the same groomsmen gifts, this does not always have to be the case. You can easily find something for each of your groomsmen to fit their unique personalities without having to give each of them the same exact gift.

Remember, this is your wedding, and they are your groomsmen, so whatever you decide you would like to get them is going to end up being the best choice for you. The bottom line is that they have always been there for you, and you can show them how much you appreciate them simply by giving them great personalized groomsmen gifts.

Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

We’ve all heard this phrase from the time we were in elementary school. Usually, it applies to our daily grind- trying to limit the amount of paper we use, rinsing out jars and using them for other things, and of course putting anything we possibly can into the recycling bin. So how does this apply to weddings?

Well, I should first admit that this has nothing to do with saving the planet– but it does have to do with saving you and your family a ton of cash. Why not use some of the resources already available to you for the wedding ceremony and reception instead of purchasing more than you have to?

Not only should you be thinking about items you or your family have lying around the house, but also items that can be transported from the ceremony to the reception. Here are some basic ideas to help you cut back:

1) Centerpieces
These days, centerpieces can be anything the mind can possibly conjure. You don’t need to have a traditional vase with roses in it. People come up with the most unique, creative and fun centerpieces that really blow the traditional ones out of the water. Not every table needs to be the same, either. So think about collecting a variety of vases from your house, your friends’ houses and your family’s house. I think it looks really cool to have some tall vases, some short, some wide, some narrow, etc. See what you can find. When you fill them, think of things that you don’t have to buy. For example, you or your loved ones may have really cool greenery in the yard that can create a gorgeous natural piece that looks really whimsical and romantic. You could also collect some sand from a nearby beach to fill the vases with. One of the most obvious free centerpiece accents is water. Filling a vase with water and some floating flowers/candles can look really cool and eclectic- you might consider getting food coloring in your theme colors and dying the water. The sky is the limit!

2) Bouquets
So let’s say you have 4 bridesmaids. There are 5 bouquets, including your own, that you girls are going to throw under the table as soon as the festivities get started. Why not leave the head table unadorned until you all get there? Have the vases filled with water and ready to go; then when the bridal party arrives, you all can put your beautiful bouquets in the vases and you’ve got your head table decor taken care of.

3) Accessories
Don’t forget the beauty of the expression “Something borrowed”. If your family and friends have gorgeous earrings, necklace, bracelet, hair pieces/ accessories, ask to borrow them! You don’t need to buy $500 worth of jewelry for one day of wear.

4) Rentals
If you need to rent tables, chairs, etc for your wedding, consider having your rehearsal dinner with these items. The rentals will most likely be dropped off and set up 2-3 days in advance, so make use of the time you have them! You can most likely have the rehearsal dinner catered for less than going to a nice restaurant.

5) Entertainment
Do your family members or friends have special talents? Use them! If a friend is a good singer, ask her to sing for your ceremony or reception. If your little cousins Irish dance, ask them to perform for the crowd. If your wedding party is a bunch of jokesters, put together a surprise dance/ skit to perform. You and your loved ones can probably entertain your guests much better than a stranger could and have a lot of fun with it.

I wrote my groom’s wedding speech, and it was a good speech because I followed some simple tips and guide. I never thought that I will be able to write a good speech, good thing I found some guides on how to write a good speech in the web.

Before I found the speech writing guides, I was so distressed over my groom’s wedding speech that I can’t even sleep properly at night. I was stressed and afraid that I won’t be able to deliver a good speech. I do not want to be a let down in my own wedding.

I tried to write a speech draft after draft, but I can’t put down the right words or the write tone. I was lost and I did not know what to do. Good thing I found the following tips online. I want to help you with your speech so I tried to compile the most basic guide I could find.

1. Write your speech with only one over-arching theme. Just write about one topic or issue and stick with it.

2. When you have decided on a theme, ask yourself what your point would be. Think about what moral or inspirational thought you want your speech to impart to your audience.

3. Show, don’t tell. Use metaphors, imagery, and colorful statements to depict action, rather than just straight out writing – “We walked in the park,” try, “We breezed in the sun soaked park.” It can be a bit corny to the ears or on paper, but it can convey more information because it is much more dynamic than just outright retelling.

4. Try and rehearse your speech with someone. You can also record and playback your speech if you don’t have anyone. You can also try to deliver your speech in front of the mirror so you can see yourself deliver the speech and see your mistakes for yourself. Be honest about mistakes so you can correct them easily later on.

I followed the guide above and I wrote my first draft easily. I made a simple groom’s wedding speech that I can be proud of. During my wedding, I was the life of the party because my toasts were funny and inspirational. At last, I was about to deliver my groom’s wedding speech. Everyone was very attentive and after I finished, I got a lot of applause from friends and family. I was so proud of myself. I was happy because I see my wife very proud of me as well.

You too can come up with a great groom’s wedding speech. Just follow the tips above and write a draft as soon as you can. If you want more information about tips and speech writing guides, go to http://www.weddingspeechesforall.com/guide-for-grooms-speeches-groom-toast

There is nothing quite like a wedding that is held during the warm summer months. During one of the most beautiful times of the year, when the flowers are in bloom, temperatures are perfect, and spirits are high, you can truly feel the love and excitement that comes along with the season. Fortunately, there are many beautiful wedding invitations available that perfectly portray this lovely time of year.

There are many reasons that couples choose to get married during the summer months, including the vast array of wedding options available. Start your perfect wedding off correctly with extremely beautiful and seasonal wedding invitations. All of your invited guests will be in awe when they receive your wedding invitation, which perfectly portrays your summer wedding theme. With all of the possible summer wedding invitations available, it is important to take time to consider which one is best for you.

Usually, the most successful wedding invitations incorporate your wedding theme into its facade. For many couples, the theme of their wedding is more than just their chosen primary colors. While some couples choose to incorporate an idea or a quote, others will choose to use a meaningful song or poem. As previously stated, many couples will incorporate the season in which their wedding is in as the theme of their wedding.

There are many ways to use the wonderful aspects of summer to further enhance your wedding invitation. If you would like to incorporate a floral theme into your invitations, for example, consider shaping the invitations like a flower, or using colors that strongly resemble those of summer flowers. If you want to be extremely creative, you can try getting invitations that resemble a bouquet of flowers or even a field of flowers. Options are endless when you combine creativity with the all of the beautiful qualities of summer.

Focusing on prevalent summer traits, such as fresh grass, sunlight, and beautiful pastel colors, is a great way to create wonderful summer wedding invitations. If you are not keen on getting an invitation that resembles a specific summer quality, consider choosing ones that incorporate the most common summer colors. Colors such as blues, greens, bright reds, pinks, and yellows, are all seen throughout the breathtaking scenery of the much anticipated summer months. By incorporating the themes of one of the most popular seasons of the year, you will create an exciting and adorable invitation that will have your guests counting down the days to your big event.

Outdoor weddings are extremely popular during the summer months. Many couples will choose to be married on a beach at a unique destination, or at another gorgeous outdoor location, that enables them to incorporate the beauty of nature in with the beauty of their wedding. Having a beach themed wedding opens many doors in regards to endearing and summer themed wedding invitations. By using strategic colors and textures in your invitation, you can have your beach theme prevalent in every aspect of your wedding. Opt for a Tropical Love invitation complete with pearl and beautiful blue accents, or a Seashell Hearts invitation sporting a picture of the beautiful ocean crest on the front. The best part about summer and beach themed wedding invitations is that there are save the date cards, menu cards, and thank you cards that all match perfectly.

For smaller weddings, you have the option to splurge a bit more on your wedding invitations. Some extremely unique and one-of-a-kind wedding invitations include ones that are found inside a glass bottle complete with sand and seashells. Other couples like to send miniature beach chairs with the information about the wedding written directly on the fabric of the chair. If you are having a destination wedding at a remote and beautiful location, consider sending your invitations on a post card from the island or country in which the wedding will be held. Seeing a picture of where your guests will be going will get them extremely excited for your wedding extravaganza. Perhaps your invitations will be a pair of flip flops or a Hawaiian lay with the details of the wedding incorporated within the beautiful flowers. Whichever type of invitations you decide to use, be aware of the unbelievable amount of options available during the summer.

While choosing the perfect summer wedding invitations can be somewhat daunting and time consuming, it can also be extremely fun and exciting. Get your guests excited by starting your wedding off with a great, summer themed wedding invitation that sets the mood for your event and gets your guests ready to party and partake in some summer fun.

Gifts of food can be given to anyone for holidays or other special occasions. These gifts will be appreciated by family, friends, coworkers, or anyone else on your gift list. Creating your own food gift basket can be a very special gift as you can personalized it with the recipient’s favorite candy, cookies, wine, or other food or beverage items.

When selecting foods to place in your gift basket, make sure they are fresh and check any expiration dates. It’s difficult to include foods that are perishable and require refrigeration, so keep that in mind when you are choosing items to place in a food gift basket. Fresh fruits and vegetables are wonderful items because they are inexpensive, colorful, and readily available. However, it’s better if you choose fruits that are not yet ripe; oranges, lemons, limes, grapefruits, and apples are good choices because they are more hearty.

In addition to wicker baskets, there are many other containers to choose from. Unbreakable bowls are appropriate for most food themes and it is easy to assemble your gifts in bowls. If you are trying to stay within a budget, shop at your local discount or dollar store. My local dollar store has a nice variety of large plastic bowls and serving trays that are sturdy and attractive. If you decide to use a serving tray, choose one with sides as the assembly will be easier.

Breakfast Basket:

This make a great gift for a hostess when you are an overnight guest, or as a housewarming, anniversary or wedding gift. It’s also a nice gift idea for a large family.

Choose a wicker tray or basket with handles as it will be easier to work with than one without handles. Fill the container with shredded brown paper, straw, or purchased shred. If desired, add a couple of rolled napkins. Select food items that one would eat or drink for breakfast; herbal tea, coffee or coffee beans, small bag or box of pancake mix, bottle of maple syrup, jams, jellies, and a small jar of honey for the tea drinkers. If there are small children in the family, include several serving size boxes of dry cereal. Add several fresh oranges or grapefruits and a couple of lemons. Since an overflowing gift basket looks better than a sparse one, fill in any empty spaces with colorful silk flowers or greenery. A nice decorative touch is to include a wooden spoon or a wire whisk tied with curly ribbon or a bow.

Pizza Basket:

Create this gift basket for a student going away to college or anyone setting up their first home.

Use a pizza pan or pizza stone as a container to hold the food items. Place several red checkered napkins or tea towels on the pan or stone to help position and anchor the other items. Include gifts such as pizza dough mix, pizza sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder or a bulb of fresh garlic, red pepper flakes, a small bottle of olive oil, grating cheese, a cheese grater, and a pizza cutter. If you prefer an easier method, use a wicker basket instead of the pizza stone or pan.

Asian Food Basket:

Make this gift basket for anyone who enjoys Chinese food. It’s also a great gift for a bridal shower or wedding.

Use a wok or bamboo steamer as the container and fill it with the makings of delicious Asian cuisine: soy sauce, sesame oil, rice wine vinegar, fresh ginger, ginger grater, a bulb of garlic, cornstarch, Asian noodles, duck sauce, a stir fry spatula, and a cookbook. Tie curly ribbon or raffia around several sets of chopsticks and position them throughout the basket. Don’t forget to add some fortune cookies.

After you have completed your food gift basket, you may want to place it in a cello bag or wrap it in cello paper; the bags are much easier to work with. This will help in transporting your gift basket and keep it dust free. If you choose to use cello, you can place ribbon or other decorative items before placing the basket in the bag, on the outside of the cello wrapped basket, or both. A nice idea is to place a decorative item amongst the food items before placing it the cello. You will need to use ribbon or raffia to tie the bag closed above the basket. It looks really nice if you allow curly ribbon or steamers to cascade down the front of the completed basket.

Pearl Maintanance 101

The luster of pearl jewelry is enchanting. Whether it’s a pearl necklace or a pair of pearl earrings, you can’t help but admire their glow. Whether you’ve purchased your pearl jewelry or received it as a gift, it’s important to take care of it to ensure it lasts a lifetime.

Density of Pearl Jewelry

Diamonds, which have been compacted for eons deep in the earth, are the hardest gemstone in the earth. Pearls, on the other hand, are cultivated within the shells of oysters. These creatures of the water produce the nacre of the pearl, the lustrous coating that gives pearl jewelry its luminosity. Unlike diamonds, pearls are soft, so you want to take the steps necessary to keep these gems looking their best.

Pearl Jewelry Isn’t for Every Occasion

Although a simple gold wedding band will withstand the rigors involved in working with your hands, your pearl ring won’t. The same holds true for your pearl necklace and pearl earrings. So don’t wear your pearl jewelry when you engage in physical labor, work in the yard, or work out at the gym. The dirt and perspiration will shorten the life of your pearls. Similarly, even though the pearls come from the ocean, it doesn’t mean that your pearl jewelry will thrive when you swim in the ocean, surf, or scuba dive. Pearls certainly don’t have to be locked away and work only for special occasions, but you should take care that they aren’t damaged by the elements.

Chemicals Can Be Toxic to Pearl Jewelry

Just as some people are allergic to chemicals, pearl jewelry can be “allergic” to hairsprays, perfumes, and lotions. The chemicals contained in such products – even those touted as “natural” – can shorten the lifespan of your pearls. This isn’t to say that you should style your hair or apply your fragrance if you’re going to wear your pearl jewelry. Rather, keep the “last on, first off” rule in mind. When you’re dressing, your pearl jewelry should be the last item you put on, just before you head out the door. When you return, your pearl jewelry should come off first, before you kick off your shoes and relax for the evening. By following this rule, you’ll limit your pearl jewelry’s exposure to chemicals and prolong the life of your jewelry.

Keeping Pearl Jewelry Clean

Like all jewelry, pearl jewelry becomes dirty over time. You can gently clean your pearl jewelry yourself with a very slightly damp soft clean cloth. It’s important that you don’t use any type of scrubbing devise, like a sponge or a toothbrush, and that you don’t use soap or detergent. After cleaning, lay your pearl jewelry on a clean, soft cloth to dry.

You can also have your pearl jewelry professionally cleaned. Many jewelers who specialize in pearl jewelry offer cleaning services for Akoya pearls, Tahitian pearls, and freshwater pearls of every color – such as white, pink, and black pearls.

Re-Stringing Pearl Necklaces

If you have an Akoya pearl necklace, a Tahitian pearl necklace, or a freshwater pearl necklace, and you wear it regularly, it’s advisable to replace the silk string every two or three years. Re-stringing your pearl necklace helps ensure that it won’t break and that you won’t lose one or more pearls.

By all means, enjoy wearing your pearl jewelry. And, with some common sense care and cleaning, you’ll be able to enjoy it for years to come.

Take a Break

Sure, you have a million and one things to get done, but you need to take time to relax. “It’s important to take time for yourself.  Read a chapter in your book, get a massage, lay out in the sun, take a nap, go for a slow walk, go to a movie, meet a friend for coffee, get a manicure (yes, men too), visit your Grandparents…. Think of little things you enjoy doing that you can fit into your busy schedule and do them!  Taking a break whether it is for a couple hours or just a short 15 minutes will rejuvenate you and help you to not feel like you are going, going, going, all the time!

Pay Attention to Nutrition

People react to stress in many different ways.  Some people stop eating, while some binge on junk food. Good nutrition is important, especially during hectic times, so be aware of what you are doing.  Do not let your eating habits become bad ones!

This is not new news, it is a known fact that our bodies work better when we “graze” throughout the day as opposed eating large meals 3 times a day.  Try to eat several small balanced meals (optimally four) and a couple of small snacks throughout the day.  And make sure you are getting plenty of protein and complex carbohydrates to fuel your body!  Good sources of protein include lean meats, fish, egg whites, dairy products, beans and rice. Complex carbohydrates include whole-wheat bread, wild rice, whole-wheat pasta, multi-grain cereal and potatoes. You should also aim to eat five servings of fruits and vegetables throughout the day.

Exercise to Look Good, Feel Good

At your wedding, all eyes are on you, so of course you want to look your best. If you want to lose a few pounds or just get in great shape, there are many options for you – from using an exercise tape to going to a gym, to walking briskly, riding your bike or playing a favorite sport.  The key to keeping your exercise up which will significantly help you to look good and feel good is to do something that you enjoy, mix it up so you don’t get bored, and be committed.  Exercise, when you first start it, is not necessarily immediately rewarding, you must stick to it and then one day (a few weeks into it) you realize that you have more energy, you’re sleeping better, and hey, guess what, you find you are fitting just that much better into your wedding dress!

Ah, and those stress-busting endorphins generated by vigorous physical activity are a great side benefit as your wedding draws near and last-minute details start to pile up. Exercise is a great stress reliever. Whether you go for a run, hit the gym for an aerobics class or take the dog for a walk, physical activity can help you look good and feel good!

Get Plenty of Rest

You’ll be better able to deal with any wedding complications if you aren’t sleep deprived. The amount of sleep you need varies from person to person… sadly I’m one of those that needs no less than 8 and like it even better if I get 9.  I say “sadly” because that means there’s less time in my “awake” day to get things done, but I have found that if I don’t stay true to the fact that my body just plain needs this much rest, then it doesn’t matter how much time I have, I just don’t do things quite as well!

Incorporating physical activity into your daily agenda, as mentioned above, also helps to promote a good night’s sleep.

Keep to Your Budget
Very important. Nothing can stress a to be married couple out more than financial matters.  Determine your budget early on and feel good about the decision you make together to have a beautiful wedding while keeping to your budget!  This “exercise” of sticking to your plan and your budget will also help to create a solid foundation for your financial future.

Above All, Having a Sense of Humor is Vital

Having a good sense of humor and also being able to let things roll off your back and “go with the flow” is vital to your mental and physical health.  It is inevitable that you’ll encounter some bumps along the road to your wedding day. The important thing is how you react to them — they can ruin your day (or your week), or you can take them in stride and move on. A sense of humor may be your most important tool as you plan your wedding.
